The customary elections for the office bearers in the students' union 2012-13 and the members of the central council 2012- 13 for Delhi University were announced by the University. Starting on 4th September the nominations would be filed and the process would be finished after the results are announced.
Prof. C S Dubey from the geology department would be the chief election fficer while the chief returning officer would be D S Rawat from the department of Chemistry. Dr Satish Kumar, the Deputy Dean of the University would be the returning officer. The whole election management team would ensure that there would be no misbehavior during the elections apart from maintaining the smooth deportment from the participants.
Heads and principals of other colleges which are affiliated to the DUSU were also appointed as election officers in their respective colleges and were the same responsibilities were vested on them.
The nominated candidates would be allowed to withdraw their nominations till the 6th of September 2012 while the final list would be finalized at 5 pm on the same day. Polling would be conducted for 4 hrs from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on 14th September 2012 for all morning colleges. For evening colleges it would be on the same day but from 3 pm to 7 pm.
Last year, while Akhil Bharatita Vidyarthi Parishad had claimed three of the four post of the DUSU panel, a National Students' Union of India member was appointed the president.
