Boy kidnaps friend and seeks 1.5 crore ransom

A student of IP University had kidnapped his friend of Delhi University, a 20 year old girl, asking her father a huge ransom of 1.5 crore. Abhishek Deep, 24, has revealed that this was not the first such case he was involved. He had also kidnapped few well-off girls for ransom. In one such case he had got 12 Lakh rupees from another girl.

The girl, victim, was found in Hotel Ashoka in Paharganj, locked inside a room. They had arrested the accused in less than a day after the complaint too.

He befriended the girl at a party 8 months ago after he met her through a common friend. Abhishek had developed a strong relationship with the girl over time. Abishek had called the girl to meet him on August 15 when she was outside her college. He asked her to meet him at Shastri Nagar Metro Station. After reaching Connaught Place he took her mobile and placed a ransom call to her father. The father who was in Bangalore had complained the police that he had received a ransom call asking for Rs 1.5 crore.

The accused had threatened the girl to comply and if she tried otherwise he would kill her father. He also said that he was a Maoist in Chattisgarh and had a nexus that could harm her family. He had been at the Paharganj hotel for almost a month paying Rs 1800 every day.

He asked the girl to book a room in her name and locked her up. He had started going out with the close friends of the victim to observe the police movements. When questioned, he cried that he could not reach her on the phone but later had given up that he was the perpetrator.
