One year of accomplishment for the CM

The strong willed Chief Minister J Jayalalitha and the AIADMK government have successfully completed one year of accomplishment in office. This was the overall predictions by columnists across the media. For every action there is an equivalent reaction is the law of physics that has been harnessed by this tough minded optimist who enthroned last year with landslide majority and one lakh crores of debts. It was not an easy job for her given the populist policies planned by her, however single handedly she chose the right people for the right job, had a vision, planned a strategy and executed it perfectly for maximum mileage. True politicians work for name and fame, but they are appreciated by people when they deliver what they promise. All this inspite of literally little or no-help from the centre, as the state party was not an ally, is worth mentioning.

In days of politicians fighting over supremacy with the party like our neighbors this strong lady has looked towards development and documented the `Vision 2023’ to see the state in Numero Uno position in many areas. The vision has transformed the state into ` Indian Detroit‘. Automobile giants like Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, India Yamaha Motor, Ashok Leyland-Nissan Motor Company, Eicher Motors and Philips Carbon Black had evinced interest in the state. Even teams from Japan proposed to extensively invest in the state.

On one side attracting valid investments in to the state along with creating thousands of opportunities to the jobless, the CM must have had numerous sleepless nights to endure on the mission. This was the elite side of the CM who made special policies to make an ideal industrial condition in the state also constituted a Special purpose vehicle will be set up to manage production zones, with a vision to see that the investors were troubled in no way.

On the other hand the populist policies benefitted lakhs of people across the state. From free rice to mixers and grinders, cows & goats, laptops to students, the list goes on. This only goes on to prove that the CM is not of words but of deeds. In situations when the state was gripped by power crisis, the CM was quite blunt in voicing her opinion to the centre on the disparity shown to Non-congress States. And to see that such a situation does not arise in future gave her nod to the Koodankulam Nuclear Power Project after thoroughly satisfying herself over the safety of the plant. She also emphasized on gas power plants and wind power plants that might soon dole the state out of power crisis.

In her own rights she firmly voiced against the NCTC, introduced by the Centre. Adding that NCTC treaded on the sovereignty of the states, this was equally supported by many leaders across the nation. As far as the Law and Order (L&O) situation in the estate, not many would disagree that it is perfect. This recent tenure has seen a much bolder step by the CM on land grab cases. In fact the wise move that the CM has adapted was appointing honest and worthy officers at top posts of L & O. another important strategy was never to indulge in their functions. This helps the officers to work on a free hand and give wonderful results.

Well when we talk about the boldness of the CM, there are no qualms over the issue. Be it the Iron voice against the centre or the controlling the KNPP protests, be it the action against media for some odd reference or on the sternness to change the Secretariat, be it her disciplinary action against her long time confidante Sasikala or about the Mullai Periyar Dam, be it the land grabs or 24-hour monitoring of `Thane’ the CM stands apart and is sure to set standards to her incumbents. Wishesh team wishes the Chief Minister all the best for a bright future of the state under her `Golden’ rule. (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
