Sukuma collector Alex Paul Menon who was abducted by Maoists in two weeks back in Chattisgarh has been reportedly released on Thursday. There is, however, no official information or announcement on the release. The sources said that the 32-year-old IAS officer was apparently handed over to two mediators-Prof Hargopal and B D Sharma.
It may be recalled that Alex Paul Menon was abducted on April 21 after he attended an official meeting. The wife of Alex Paul Menon has no official information on the release and the sources said that his family was anxiously waiting for him to arrive at home. It has to be mentioned here that Maoists told BBC that they would release Alex Paul Menon on May 3. (Phani)
