An auto driver and his accomplice assaulted a Dutch teen passenger, in the midnight hours of Monday, in Mumbai. The 18-year-old Dutch student was abducted and raped in a secluded spot near Aarey Milk Colony in Goregaon (East), in the city. "The girl is an exchange student. She has been staying at Mulund," additional commissioner Ramrao Pawar said.

In her statement to the police, the victim said she came to the city 15 days ago. On Christmas night, she had gone to a friend’s house in Vasai and was accompanied by a male friend on her way back to Mulund, where she is staying. The friend got dropped midway and she was proceeding to her house. Just as the auto moved a little distance a stranger boarded and the driver did not object to it. When the auto was taking a different turn the girl smelled foul and started screaming. On reaching a secluded spot behind Vanrai police station, both the driver and his accomplice parked the vehicle and occupied the back seat. They assaulted her and raped her. The girl with her self defense skills managed to get out bleeding. She ran towards Aarey Milk Colony, followed by the duo. On hearing the screaming the residents rushed out. The duo immediately fled on seeing the residents. With their help she reached the police station and complained. In the melee she left her bag with Rs.8000/- cash, i-Phone and passport.

Vanrai police have registered a case against the unidentified assailants on charges of kidnap, robbery and rape with common intention. They have prepared sketches of the accused on the basis of Emma's descriptions, and have launched a hunt for the two men.
