Going by the previous season, Bigg Boss 5 is likely to live up to its reputation of a 'scandalous house'. With fights, squabbles, controversies and penalties galore, the inmates will surely make the show worth to watch.
Among the 14 participants, Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor is the only male member. The dynamic bunch of inmates include actress and TV host Pooja Bedi, actress/singer Raageshwari Loomba, actress Shraddha Sharma, celebrity transgender and social activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Charles Sobhraj's wife Nihita Biswas, actress Mahek Chahal, model and actress Shonali Nagrani, model/VJ/actress Pooja Mishra, TV actress Juhi Parmar, wrestler Sonika Kaliraman, Miss Afghanistan 2003 Vida Samadzai, Gulabi Saphera and Mandeep Bablee.
The inmates of the house who entered on Monday night will stay isolated from the outside world in the outskirts of Mumbai for 3 months with 24|7 camera surveillance. Bigg Boss 5 brings together the wackiest and sexiest bunch of celebrities under one roof. The reality show will be telecast every Monday to Friday at 10:30pm only on the Indian entertainment channel Colors. As the show progresses, more famous celebrities are likely to join the Bigg Boss house as special guests and through wild card entry. Talking about hosts for the first time colors shall have two of the biggies of Bollywood Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan on the stage.
According to the report, bookies across the country have invested over Rs 300 Cr over the show. In a case of anonymity, a bookie said that the amount would go up further as the show progresses. The money has been invested through the betting rackets in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmadabad and Dubai.
