Women sentenced for 10 lashes in Saudi for breaking car driving ban

saudi-women-drivingAs per the daily mail reports, A Saudi women named as, Shaima Ghassaniya was found caught of driving without the government's consent. 

The ruling comes just two days after Saudi King Abdullah's announcement that women will have the right to vote and run in the country's 2015 local elections. 

According to the paper many other women have been confined for several days for violating the driving ban, but had not been sentenced by a court.

 In May, as pro-democracy disapproval swept the region, some women in Saudi Arabia called for the right to drive.
