Street prostitutes in Bonn to pay tax

StreetProstitutesThe authorities in Bonn, the former capital city of Germany, have introduced parking system for street prostitutes on payment of fee, according to a report published in The Telegraph, the UK’s leading newspaper.
The prostitutes working on the Bonn streets have to buy tickets from the roadside vending machines if they want to solicit customers during the night, i.e. between 8.15 PM and 6 am. The tariff for the night is 5.3 pounds and they can solicit any number of customers.
Germany has long ago legalized prostitution in the country and the prostitutes in fixed establishments such as brothels and sauna clubs already pay tax. But the prostitutes pervading the streets are escaping the tax net.
“Now, they are also brought under the tax net as an act of tax fairness,” said the Telegraph quoting a spokeswoman for Bonn city council.
