Daughter of the former Tamil Nadu chief minister Karunanidhi and DMK MP Ms. Kanimozhi today knocked on the Supreme Court doors seeking bail after her bail petition was summarily rejected by the Delhi High Court on Wednesday.
Kanimozhi along with Kalaignar TV MD Mr Sharad Kumar, accused in the 2G Spectrum scandal, submitted their bail petitions to the Supreme Court through their lawyers.
The two are presently lodged in the high security Tihar prison in Delhi after CBI charged them with conspiring with the former Communications minister A. Raja and others who allotted Spectrum silences for graft.
The Delhi High Court, while rejecting the bail petitions, said there is prima facie evidence to say that both of them had conspired with the main accused A. Raja and caused the Spectrum scandal.
