Super star Rajanikanth, who was undergoing treatment at the Sri Rama Chandra Medical College hospital in Chennai for multiple infections, was last night shifted to the ICU after a dialysis to his kidneys. Rajani was also operated on Tuesday for taking out the fluids accumulated in his lungs.

Doctors said they had to perform the dialysis to the 61-year old actor as his kidneys were not functioning properly and without dialysis, fluids’ accumulation would increase further in his blood. It would also result in the decline of sodium and protein levels.

“We hope his kidneys will return to normalcy once his respiratory system is cleared of the infectious fluids,” said the doctors.

The fan clubs of Rajanikanth across the country have been offering prayers at various temples seeking the blessings of Gods for his speedy recovery.
