The action movie specialized director Murugdoss reveals his heart in which he placed his father on the highest plane as a real hero. He says that his reel heroes are Kamal Haasan, Rajanikanth and Robert De Nero but his real life hero is his father who not only lent his name but also encouraged him right from the director took interest in the movies at the age of 9. After graduating unlike other fathers who want their child to become a professional like an Engineer or a Doctor, gave full support to Murugadoss in spite of the financial hardships he was facing being a small trader of cooking containers at a small village Kallakurichi situated at 200 km. from Chennai.
Murugadoss recalls how his father allocated a lion’s share to him out of the total money on the children. When Rs.500/- was spent on all of his children, Murugadoss’s father gave a free hand of Rs.400/- as he was struggling at Chennai to come up in the cine field. According to Murugadoss only thing that bothers in his life is his inability to repay the kindness shown by his father. By the time he debuted in the film field as a director and struck success and had his own income in 2001 his father died. He could not buy a cup of coffee for his father thought of which bothers him.
Murugadoss whose films show violence in the movie to high degree reveals reason for it. He has lot of complaints on the society. His experiences although small in nature made him take decision to fight with it. For example, when his father was in death bed in 1997, the remarks made by the doctor and giggling response given by the nurse on duty made him angry. When the officers demanded bribe to issue a death certificate of his father, he told them that the certificate will not help him get a job. The certificate was delayed as no money was paid to expedite it. As a result of bad experiences of that sort, his stories show a touch of violence that is not seen in other movies.
Murugadoss admits that the fight with the society intended by him is being completed on the screen through his heroes.
