srilanka and pakPakistan, which won the toss and elected to bat first, set Sri Lanka a target of 278 runs for victory in a World Cup group A league match today.

Taking up the batting first, Sri Lanka made an impressive 277 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the given 50 overs on a hot and humid day at the R. Premadasa stadium in Colombo. This is the second match for both the teams.

Sri Lanka dropped from its team the injured Lasith Malinga and has taken in Chamara Silva to replace him. Pakistan chose to enter the fray unchanged from its last match.

While Misbah-ul-Haq was unbeaten at 83 when Pakistan ended their innings, Younis Khan and Kamran Akmal contributed 72 and 39 respectively to take the visiting team to 277/7.
