Aussies treading cautious path

AusvsIndiaAustralia, which began cautiously after winning the toss and electing to bat first in their Cricket World Cup 2011 quarter final encounter against India today at Montera, lost five quick wickets. Aussies lost both openers Shane Watson and Brad Haddin for 25 and 53 runs respectively.  Middle order batsmen Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey and Cameron White also lost their wickets for 8, 3 and 12 runs respectively. Australia made 210 for the loss of 5 wickets at the end of 44 overs when reports last came in.

The quarter final is also the 100th one day international for Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Dhoni had picked up opener Virender Sehwag in place of Yousaf Pathan for the Indian squad after doctors certified that Sehwag is fit to play. Earlier there are reports that Sehwag may not play as he has not fully recovered from his injury.

Australia too has made small change in its team bringing in David Hussey in place of Steven Smith.

Australia: Ricky Ponting (c), Brad Haddin, Shane Watson, Michael Clarke, Cameron White, Mike Hussey, David Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Jason Krejza, Shaun Tait.
