Microsoft launches Band

After smart watches, it is the smart  'wristbands' are that are gaining importance and technology giant Microsoft has come up with a wearable smart 'Band'. This cloud-based 'Health' Band tracks heart rate, steps, calorie burn, sleep quality and also has GPS tracking. Microsoft Band is compatible with devices running iOS, Android and, of course, Windows Phone.

Microsoft claims that the service uses this data to provide insights on your health and for this, it has tied up with fitness service providers such as Gold’s Gym, My Fitness Pal, RunKeeper and Map My Fitness to help you keep a track of your progress.

The Band is powered by dual 100 mAh batteries and is available for $199 in US. However, Microsoft did reveal when it make available for outside the US.
