Microsoft Integrates Caller Identity App “Skype Lite” With Aadhaar:- The “Made for India” Skype Lite app has been integrated with Aadhaar by Microsoft, to prevent impersonation fraud thereby allowing users of the app to verify the caller’s identity online.

The world’s largest national identification number project is considered to be Aadhaar, which allows Indian users to communicate with government, business, and others with a higher level of trust and lower potential for fraud.
Jasmeen Nagpal of Microsoft said in a statement, “With the latest version of Skype Lite, Aadhaar integration can be used to verify users’ identity online, helping them communicate more securely with others.” This feature can be especially helpful for making a Skype Lite call to an important business client or government representative. Both the parties can verify their identity at the beginning of the Skype Lite call, by using Aadhaar, to prevent impersonation fraud.
Using Skype Lite, either of the party can request Aadhaar verification over a video call. In order to confirm your identity:
- Click on “Verify Aadhaar identity”
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number
- Authenticate with a one-time password sent via SMS
Once validated, to confirm your identity, you can select to share pre-selected Aadhaar information with the other person.
