Google to deliver pay television online

The Wall Street Journal described in a statement on Tuesday, that the United States (US) Internet giant Google is moving hastily and with urgency intending to deliver pay television online as well as has met with some content providers on licensing.  The Journal described that if the Web giant furthers ahead accompanied by the idea, it would join several other companies planning to offer services that deliver cable TV-style packages of channels over broadband connections. They added that Intel Corp along with Sony Corp are both working on similar offerings, while Apple Inc has pitched various TV licensing ideas to media companies in the past couple of years.

The journal mentioned that it seems that Google's effort, if gains success has the potentiality to seriously counteract the present pay-cable television ecosystem.
