Australia scored 328 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the ICC World Cup semifinals on Thursday against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground . Indian bowler Umesh Yadav took 4/72.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Australian opener David Warner attacked Indian bowlers, but fell short for Umesh Yadav for 12 runs. Then Steven Smith teamed up with another Opener Aaron Finch. The duo hit the shots all the ground and took the score to 200. After hitting his fourth ODI hundred Smith lost his wicket to Umesh Yadav.
After a while Finch followed Smith. Finch scored 81. Maxwell and Clarke added few runs to the scoreboard and returned to the pavillion.
Jolted by the loss of a few quick wickets, Shane Watson and James Faulkner started playing the big shots but not for long. Umesh, India's bowling hero in Sydney, turned up again to get rid of the dangerous Faulkner for 21 with a full and straight delivery.
