Official: Telangana Registration Charges revised:- Buying a property right from agricultural land to an apartment or a plot would be quite expensive in Telangana after the government of Telangana revised the registration or market value of all the properties. The new prices will be applicable from February 1st. The agricultural lands are hiked by 50 percent and there is a 25 percent hike in the apartments and a 35 percent hike for the plots. The Stamp Duty is fixed at 7.5 percent of the market value for the registered property. The official GO will be out today and the new prices will be applicable across all the registration offices of the state.

The state government is expecting a double revenue from the registrations starting from today. As per a government official, the Telangana government is getting Rs 500 crores through the registrations and now the government will now receive close to Rs 1000 crores. The Stamps and Registration Department received a green signal from the Telangana government three weeks ago. The realtors of the state urged the government not to hike the registration values considering the ongoing pandemic. The government is keen to minimize the open market value and the government's market value. After a series of discussions, the prices are hiked and the officials divided the properties into three categories.
