APSRTC Full Services From October:- With the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic, all the public transport facilities in the country are kept on hold. The bus and train services resumed partially in the recent weeks and the state, Centre run services incurred huge losses because of the coronavirus pandemic. Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) decided to resume all the services in the state. The entire APSRTC services are shut between March 21st and May 20th. The partial services are being operated since May. The occupancy over these weeks has been 30 percent. 50% of the seats are removed to follow social distancing in the buses.
APSRTC decided to run all the services starting from October 1st. All the buses would get back to the roads with 100% seats in all the buses. All the repairs are currently done and all the buses would be ready by the end of this month. All the depot managers and officials are alerted, informed about the same. APSRTC suffered huge losses because of the pandemic. AP Government which took over APSRTC decided to hike the fares to cover some. The services to Telangana will be decided after a meeting soon that will take place next week. Despite of a couple of meetings held, the issues between APSRTC and TSRTC are yet to be resolved.
