APSRTC To Resume Services From May 18th:- With the coronavirus lockdown, the entire country is shut and the public transport services have come to a halt. The government of Andhra Pradesh decided to resume the services of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) from May 18th irrespective of the decision about the Centre on the extension of lockdown. The public transport authorities decided to run the buses for the free transportation of the people. APSRTC MD, Madireddy Pratap issued a circular to the Regional Managers of all the depots across Andhra Pradesh about the same asking them to get the buses ready by May 18th.
In Anantapur region, 635 buses will be run as a first step. The number of services would be increased on a regular basis as per the movement of the people and the coronavirus lockdown. Several changes are made for the luxury buses in the seating. Hand sanitizers would be available in the buses and social distancing is a must. All the services would run with 50% occupancy and the tickets would be available online. There would be no conductors and the tickets for some of the services would be available in the bus stations. Andhra Pradesh witnessed huge rise in the number of coronavirus cases. The Centre is yet to make an announcement about the extension of lockdown which is announced till May 17th.
