ISRO Successfully Launches Cartosat-3

ISRO Successfully Launches Cartosat-3:- The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) added one more feather to its cap after it successfully launched Cartosat-3 onboard PSLV-C47 along with 13 nanosatellites from the USA in their orbits. Cartosat-3 was launched at 9.28 AM today at SHAR, Andhra Pradesh. These can map earth with better accuracy. Since 2005, ISRO launched eight Cartosat satellites till date. PSLV-C47 carrying Cartosat-3 and the nanosatellites lifted off from the second launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre. After 17 minutes, the rocked placed Cartosat-3 in a polar sun synchronous orbit.

Cartosat-3 will circle the earth at 509 km altitude with an inclination of 97.5 degrees. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sir YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has congratulated ISRO scientists for the successful launch of PSLV- C 47 carrying Cartosat-3 and 13 nanosatellites. He wished the ISRO team many more such glorious moments in the days to come. "I am happy that PSLV-C47 injected precisely in the orbit with 13 other satellites," said ISRO Chief K Sivan.
