ISRO Makes it Official About Vikram Lander's Hard-Landing:- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) finally admitted about the hard-landing of Vikram Lander that carried Chandrayaan-2 to the moon. ISRO clarified that it missed the target just minutes before its reach but they could not trace the exact orbit and location. In a written answer for a question to the Department of Space in Lok Sabha, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh said that the “reduction in velocity” of the Vikram lander during the final phase of its descent on the moon’s surface “was more than the designed value”.

He said that the Vikram Lander hard-landed on the moon within 500 metres of the designed landing site which is unfortunate. Vikram Lander was planned to touch the surface of the moon during the early hours of September 7th and it crash-landed. ISRO made no comments about the update of Vikram Lander further. Three days after the incident, ISRO had said the Orbiter module of Chandrayaan-2 was functioning normally and is circling the moon. Apart from landing, most of the objectives of Chandrayaan-2 mission have been successful said Jitendra Singh.
