MLA Count Of TRS Reaches 100 In Telangana:- Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) registered record victory during the Assembly polls that took place during December last year. The party won 88 seats out of the 119 and formed the government for the second time in a row. Now the Legislators in the party reached 100 with one more Congress MLA switching loyalty. B Harshvardhan Reddy, who was elected from Kollapur constituency from Congress joined TRS yesterday in the presence of TRS President KTR. B Harshvardhan Reddy said that he is joining the ruling party to develop his constituency. If necessary, he said that he would resign and go for re-election.
B Harshvardhan Reddy is the ninth Congress MLA joining TRS this month. TRS reached a count of 100 in Telangana Assembly and the Congress may now lose the status of the major opposition party in the state. Under Anti-Defection Law, if two-third legislators of a party defect, they will not attract disqualification. With no 10% strength in the house, Congress will lose the opposition party status for sure.
