Narendra Modi Unveils 'Statue Of Unity'

Narendra Modi Unveils 'Statue Of Unity':- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Statue of Unity today and dedicated it to the nation. It is the statue of the country's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The statue is 182 metres long and it stands on Sadhu island located on Narmada river. The Statue of Unity is twice the height of the world's famous Statue of Libery located in USA. Speaking before the gathering, Narendra Modi raised slogans 'Sardar Patel Amar Rahe'. He reminded that Sardar Patel's birthday is celebrated as Ekta Diwas in India.

The statue costed Rs 2989 crores and it took 70,000 tonnes of cement along with 18,500 tonnes of steel and 6000 tonnes of structural steel. Narendra Modi called it an architectural wonder. Many other projects like Valley of Flowers and Tent City are being planned informed Modi. Modi even inaugurated the Wall of Unity on 143rd anniversary of Sardar Patel. Modi thanked the farmers, villagers and all others because of which the construction of Statue of Unity was possible.
