Another Victim Falls Prey For ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ In Chennai:- In a shocking incident, a 24-year old college-going teenager allegedly jumped off from the seventh floor of a high-rise apartment complex in Virugambakkam on Monday evening, in Chennai.

The woman identified as J. Niveditha miraculously survived after she fell on a parked car. She was admitted to a private hospital, where she is being treated for a ruptured backbone. It was rumored and suspected in the apartment complex about the girl being a victim of the ‘blue whale challenge’.

This has eventually forced the cops to go through the victim’s phone and other gadgets. “We have enquired with the family, who are ruling out the possibility. We would wait until the victim recovers from her injuries,” a senior police officer told a leading news paper.

The girl is a second year MCA student at a private college, and  lives with her family at a seventh floor apartment in the Jains West Minster apartment complex on Arunachalam road in Virugambakkam. According to an investigating official, Niveditha had opened the grille gate in the balcony of her apartment and apparently jumped. Hearing the loud thud, the security guards and residents rushed to the spot. She was moved to a private hospital nearby. Police said, it was observed that on her backbone she suffered multiple fractures.

Investigations revealed that for quite some time she appeared to be suffering from depression. “The parents seem to be unaware of any reasons,” an officer said.
