Shubman Gill hospitalized in Chennai:- Indian star opener and batsman Shubman Gill has been hospitalized after he was infected with dengue fever. The ace batsman was rushed to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai yesterday morning and his health condition is currently stable. Dr Rizwan Khan who has been the doctor on behalf of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been attending and is monitoring the health of Shubman Gill. His platelet count has been low after which he was taken to the hospital.

Shubman Gill will miss India's next match against Pakistan and the Board will take the call about his playing as per the medical reports. The Board also issued a medical advice to avoid flying when the platelet count is down. BCCI issued a statement that Shubman Gill will not be available for the match in New Delhi. "Team India batter Shubman Gill will not be traveling with the team to Delhi on 9th October 2023. The opening batter who missed the team's first fixture in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 against Australia in Chennai is set to miss the team's next fixture against Afghanistan in Delhi on the 11th of October. He will stay back in Chennai and will be under the supervision of the medical team," told the statement of BCCI.
