Ace Film Maker cum actor Kasinathuni Viswanath had received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, on yesterday in a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan in National Capital, Delhi.
President Pranab Mukherjee felicitated the Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner, where he received the standing ovation from all in the event while receiving the award.
The award is given by the Central government for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema.
The special audio visual on Viswanath Garu was screened during the Award function, the audio visual showcased some memorable moments of Viswanath Garu along with legendary actor NTR, etc., Viswanath garu’s complete film journey, how he turned as sound engineer to Director, etc was screened in the audio visual.
Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu and other prominent government officials were also present in the award function ceremony. National awards winners like Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and others who received award in different category were present in the event.
Today, few hours back PM Narendra Modi who congratulated all the National Award Winner has made special mention of K Viswanath Garu name and applauded him specially on his twitter page,
