TRS Minister Harish Rao Makes Shocking Revelations About Andhra Contractors

The Cabinet Minister for Irrigation, Marketing and Legislative Affairs for Telangana, T. Harish Rao, has made shocking comments on Andhra contractors.

The Minister, who once questioned and strongly objected Andhra contractors, has now admitted that the experience and expertise of Andhra contractors, is what make them ahead of others.

He further said, neither the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), nor anyone could do anything about the contracts, by going into the hands of Andhra contractors. “It is a legal and logical procedure they follow. Whoever, quotes less, has the eligibility to get the contracts,” said Harish Rao.

Harish Rao remarked, “As we follow the online e-procurement tender, there is nothing that we or anyone could do about it. Contractors from various states, such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh have come.”

“When I tried to understand, I got to know that Andhra contractors, are more across the country, and they are not just limited to Telangana. From Kashmir to Tamil Nadu to Uttar Pradesh, the Andhra contractors are everywhere. They are, infact, even doing work in Afghanistan and Sri Lanka too.”

“For the past 50 years, since they have established as entrepreneurs, they have the exposure to major projects, and thus earned good experience. We could not discriminate the tender that is allotted online,” Harish added.

“The Andhra contractors, across the States and Regions, are constructing airports, constructing national highways and irrigation projects,” stated Harish.

The Minister said, he had visited Madhya Pradesh, after knowing in Central government's All India Irrigation Conference, that 1 thousand million cubic feet (TMC) water, is used for 15,000 - 20,000 acres, in order to adopt it for Telangana. But, Harish was shocked to learn that the irrigation projects in Madhya Pradesh, were built by Andhra companies, Navayuga and Megha.

The Irrigation Minister, also clarified that the Telangana Chief Minister is being reasonable in the House, and giving mike to Opposition leaders, parties. This is in order to have more questions and answers, so as to make the ruling transparent.
