Rebel movie review: Mass Entertainer

Well the weekend has already come in and we are all feeling fatigue over the hectic parleys of the concrete jungles, experienced last week. Meeting deadlines, targets, excuses and what not, leaving all this behind what we need is to unwind immediately. For those party animals Saturday night fever is sure to shoot up. But for all those who would like to have a quality night with your better half, I think you should be with your partner at one of the multiplexes of the city. Watch out your choicest film at a close cinema and I am here to give you details of what is what and the leave the choice to your sole discretion. The last week we had a movie from each tinsel world that had something special to be mentioned.

Rebel Movie Review: Prabhas - Lawrence combo Rebel (Telugu) is a mass entertainer. The story revolves around a high class youth who is affected by the sudden turn of events  and becomes a Don. This Don is out to avenge the detractors of his Father and is on the look out for missing ends. Tamanna shares the screen space with the hero and she is extremely glamorous, fit to give your partner 'J.' So stayaway from looking at Tamanna, while she (your spouse) is watching you (Chuckles!). Then we have Deeksha Seth with her usual glamor shows and veteran Krishnam Raju steals the show with his stellar performance. Songs are really good and the director debuts in this area with this film. Rebel is a thorough mass entertainer.

Thandavam Movie Review: Another sensation from the stable of Vikram - A L Vijay combo is Thandavam (Tamil). This film is inspiring and Vikram is awesome, well aided by the versatile veteran Jagapathi Babu. Anushka is glamorous while is no competition to Amy Jackson. This film revolves around the hurdles faced by a sincere officer out on a mission against the militants who had stolen the defense secrets of the nation. Vikram excels in his dual roles, in addition to the RAW officer, he portrays a blind character of an Echolocation expert. A treat to his fans and to general film goers too. Music by G V Prakash steals the show. Thandavam is an action entertainer.

Oh My God movie review: In spite of wide criticism over hurting of religious sentiments,  OMG (Hindi) is a class apart film in which Paresh Rawal as the atheist excels, while Akshay Kumar as the GOD tags along in the well scripted story. The ingredients are well blend to give adequate wit and humour while delivering a subtle message. It only signifies that normally God is thought, out of fear or desire, but if you treat him as a friend he is there by your side always, come what may. And if one looks for the divine personality he is present in everyone among us. OMG is not preachy, but  the message is subtle, while humor and real life incidents are blended evenly to make it a successful socio-fantasy film.

So happy weekends, take time to bond with your loved ones while rewinding after the hectic week that just passed out. This is also your best time to get recharged for the hectic week ahead too. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
