New Delhi heading for a Weekend Curfew:- Delhi reported a huge spike in the new cases reported and a total number of 17,282 new cases are reported in the country in the last 24 hours. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held an emergency meeting with the officials to discuss about the steps to be taken. Arvind Kejriwal announced a weekend curfew to keep a break to the transmission of the cases. All the planned weddings and other activities will be allowed with limited attendance and curfew passes. All the shopping malls, movie theatres, gyms, spas, auditoriums will be shut during the weekends and they will be allowed to operate with one-third occupancy during the weekdays. Eating in restaurants is completely banned for now and the home deliveries are allowed.

All the markets are allowed to operate on weekdays with several restrictions. Arvind Kejriwal addressed the state through a video conference and announced the new restrictions. He asked the people not to panic and all the essential services will be available during the weekend. Arvind Kejriwal met Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal along with the top officials of the state before making an announcement. Delhi is one of the badly hit states in the country due to the second wave of coronavirus. 100 people passed away in the state yesterday alone and the spike is increasing at a rapid pace. The positive rate increased by 16 percent in the state. There are 50,736 active cases of coronavirus in Delhi as of now.
