Kerala and AP Top the Country in Health Parameters:- Kerala is on the top of the country when it comes to health parameters. The ranks have been given as per the health index scores in a report by NITI Aayog. Kerala got a score of 74.01 and Andhra Pradesh stood second with 65.13. The states are divided as per larger, smaller and union territories to maintain a constant health index. NITI Aayog’s Health index takes a large role in understanding how the country performs in terms of health.

HIV and tuberculosis detection along with maternal and neonatal mortality rates, institutional deliveries, immunization coverage are the indices compared and measured. Kerala saw a decline when compared to 2015-16. Tamil Nadu now slipped from the third pace to ninth place. Telangana had to adjust in tenth place while Karnataka stood in eighth place. Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana saw better performances on health scores in 2017-18. These health index scores are calculated based on 23 indicators.
