Jadhav Providing “Crucial Intelligence” On Terror Attacks In Country, Claims Pak:- Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav (46), who has been sentenced to death by a military court, was providing “crucial intelligence” about the recent terrorist attacks in the country, claimed Pakistan.

Jadhav was given death sentence last month, on charges of “involvement in espionage and sabotage activities” against the country.

Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria addressing a news channel, said in an interview, “With regard to the recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan, Jadhav continues to provide crucial intelligence.”

However, the details of the intelligence being provided by Jadhav was not elaborated by Zakaria. Jadhav’s execution was stayed by the Hague-based International Court of Justice (ICJ) on May 18, but it has to decide the jurisdiction issue in the case, said Pakistani officials.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf reported a news channel that Pak had enough strong evidence to prove that Jadhav was a “spy”. However, the information on Jadhav could not be disclosed due to security reasons. “The evidence would only be presented before the ICJ, one it starts the hearing,” said Ausaf.

Ausaf said, the procedural order of ICJ given on May 18, was neither Pak’s defeat nor India’s success, and emphasized that “Pakistan will be on solid ground to win”, when the case restarts. When asked about the constitution of a new legal team, Ausaf said there were no plans to change the team. It would be expanded.

On further questioning, why he did not represent Pakistan at the May 15 hearing at the ICJ, Ausaf claimed that “he knew prior to the judgment that the ICJ is going to announce the provisional order.”

The ruling triggered criticism of the Pakistan Foreign Office for its “poor handling” and also for its choice of attorney Khawar Qureshi, who presented Pakistan’s case before the ICJ.
