Hyderabad to be split into 4 districts!

Referring to the proposal of increasing the existing 10 districts to 25, Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma held a high-level review meeting with Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy collectors Rahul Bojja and Raghunandan Rao and few other VIPs.

The Chief Secretary said at the meeting that, as per the proposed draft plan, the twin cities- Hyderabad and Secunderabad are likely to be increased to four districts and also sought the collectors, their opinions and suggestions if any, on the issue.

As said earlier, Telangana Chief Minister KCR, is planning to announce on State Formation Day on June 2nd, the new districts in the state. It is because of that, the meeting has acquired significance. The officials decided to hold another meeting in the third week of this month, probably to take the final call regarding the new districts of the state.

According to the sources, KCR considered to increase the districts, for the administrative convenience.

The Chief Secretary further said, obtaining the opinions from the VIPs including the collectors, for increasing the districts, several factors like population, area of the locations, mandals, revenue divisions, sub division offices, police commissionerates and other factors will be considered.

He shared his views on the issue with the officials of other districts. The Chief Minister, who could not chair the meeting, directed Rajiv Sharma to hold another conference for the purpose.
