18 arrested in a major interstate sex racket in Hyderabad:- The Cyberabad cops buster out a huge interstate and international human trafficking network in Hyderabad and 18 people have been arrested. All these are involved in 39 cases. The accused have been forcing and convincing women from various cities and countries into sex trafficking through social media and websites. The Cyberabad cops said that the racket is responsible for 70 percent of the prostitution cases in Hyderabad and its surroundings. 14,190 victims have been forced into prostitution by these culprits as per the primary investigation. The racket was operated from Hyderabad and has Mumbai, Delhi as the other bases. They are operated through WhatsApp groups and call centres.
The total number of organizers are said to be 300 are they are from Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Ahmedabad and from other countries like Thailand, Russia and Uzbekistan. Stephen Ravindra, the Commissioner of Cyberanad said that they worked on the operation for two months and involved the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Cyberabad police. Several local cops and the Special Operations Team members were involved in this operation. Mohammed Adeem, Arnav, Arora, and Nikhil are named as the main accused in this case. They are supplying 950 girls from Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
Another major accused Rishi alias Mohammad Abdul Salman is absconding and he is supplying 900 victims from the past six years. 34 smartphones, three cars, a laptop and a keypad phone have been seized along with 2.5 grams of MDMA. More than forty cases are filed in Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates.
