Cyclonic storm Hudhud in Bay of Bengal will intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm in next 12 hours, say Cyclone Warning Centre [CWC] at Visakhapatnam. Hudhud will cross North Coastal Andhra on October 12th and is expected to make a downfall close to the Vizag city. Currently the storms is around 500 kilometres far from Vizag and wind speed will range from 130 to 150 kms on Sunday when it touches the land.
The Andhra Pradesh government is taking all the necessary measures and fisherman are advised to stay away from fishing till Monday. A high alert has been announced at north coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam. Heavy to very heavy rainfall might register in all the three districts while there is a possibility in the Godavari districts too. Authorities have opened 125 relief camps for people to be evacuated from low-lying areas.
The Central government and state governments of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh are monitoring the situation constantly and are in touch with officials.
