An Indian Air Force (IAF) plane has gone missing over the Bay of Bengal amid the bad weather, according to the reports.
The IAFβ AN-32 plane took off from Tambaram in Chennai for Port Blair In Andaman & Nicobar Island when it lost the contact with the radar at around 8.45 am, reports said. The plane was scheduled to arrive at Port Blair at 11.30 am, reports added.

The Indian Navy, the Coast Guard along with the IAF have launched a search and rescue operation. According to the reports, among the 29 people on board, six are crew members. The Navy has added one P8I aircraft, one donier aircraft and four ships, Kamukh, Gharial, Jyoti and Kuthar, in the search operation.

Reports said that more military help will be sent to help the search and rescue operation. The officials said that the aircraft can fly up to four hours without refueling.
