Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi skipped the farewell dinner party of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh hosted by Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday. Ironically many Congress leaders don't know about Rahul's absence and later when the media asked about Rahul, leaders were in dilemma and said they had no idea.
Ajau Mayken spoke to the media and clarified about Rahul's absence. Adding, “as Rahul was actively campaigning in elections for the past three months, he was out of town for two days. Rahul meet Manmohan last Saturday and conveyed the message that he won't be available for the farewell dinner. Rahul will return to the national capital on Thursday by evening.”
Many union ministers have participated in this farewell and congratulated Manmohan for his ten year tenure. Sonia Gandhi presented a memento to Manmohan which has signatures of top Congress leaders and one of his cabinet colelagues MM Pallam Raju read out the dedication inscribed on the memento.
Despite being the farewell, the Congress camp looked seriously worried over the election results which are assumed to be in the favor of BJP.
