Indian government on Friday asked US Embassy to withdraw one of the diplomat and leave the country within 48 hours. As Devyani returned to the country, India has again hit US by expelling the diplomat and US expressed its deep regret on India's quick action. In addition to this, US State Department spokesman Jen Psaki said, “charges on Devyani are still on and now she no longer has the immunity and we might issue an arrest warrant on her in near future.”
The 39 year old Devyani Khobragade has been arrest on December 12th on the charges of fraud visa and false statements. She was strip searched and cavity check was also done to her. India has transferred Devyani to Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.
