Sharmila Makes History

YS Sharmila who is on a program of covering the places in the State on foot called 'Maro Prasthanam'  on behalf of YS Jagan's YSR Congress Party to get goodwill to the party made history by completing 2500 kilo meters.

Yesterday, she reached Kakarlapalli village near Tuni in East Godavari District with which she covered 2500 kilo meters.  She spent 188 days to cover 2500 kilo meters starting from Idupulapaya in Kadapa District on 18th October 2012.  She called it ‘Maro Prasthanam’ means ‘Another journey’ as previously YSR made it before Congress Party dethroned TDP.  Her plan is to make it 3000 kilo meters covering 23 districts of the State.

It no doubt is a world record for a woman.  She so far covered 1500 villages.  In terms of constituencies it is 91 in number and 155 mandals.

It is not a small feat for a woman to cover 2500 kilo meters on foot.  She completed 2000 kilo meters stretch when she reached Ravikampadu in West Godavari Districts.  On her way, walking in to the villages, she inquired about the welfare of the people from different walks of life.  She did not get disheartened when she suffered a knee problem which was medically treat that made her break her journey on foot for a month in the month of December 2012.
