The temple town wore a celebrity look, decorated to welcome the first citizen of the neighboring island nation. Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the temple town in the early hours, along with his family. He was accompanied by huge contingent of 97 delegates while visiting the temple. The President and his family participated in the early hours Suprabhata Seva to the Lord.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam welcomed the first citizen with due honors. Mr Rajapaksa, must be relieved man to receive the grand welcome at the temple. As the dignitary received  some bad responses since his landing in Tamil Nadu. However all the bitter memories must have disappeared with the wonderful visit to the temple.

Addressing media personnel while outside the temple, the President expressed that the way his government was functioning only reveals the core ideology on the ethnic issues. He also added that in a democratic country everyone has a freedom of expression. This only meant that the hon'ble leader never took to heart of the avid protests in the neighboring state.
