The government has been taking relief measures in the flood hit areas of coastal Andhra. It is known that chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has held a high level meeting this morning at secretariat over the effect of Neelam cyclone. CM reportedly took a decision to write to the prime minister Manmohan Singh on the floods. It was learned that in the letter, chief minister would ask prime minister to send a special team to Andhra Pradesh in order to review the flood hit areas in the state.
The sources said that the government is most likely to write a letter to the prime minister in a day or two. Meanwhile, the opposition parties blamed the government for not taking proper measures even after issuing cyclone alert. When cyclone was reported to hit Tamil Nadu and some parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu government made elaborate arrangements like setting up heavy generators on roads in order to pump out the water. The observers said that our leaders should have taken such measures.
