Nearly after six months of the devastating cyclone Neelam, the Centre has released funds to the victims of Neelam cyclone in Andhra Pradesh. The government has released as much as Rs. 417 crores towards the victims in Neelam cyclone. It may be noted that Governor ESL Narasimhan has today in the customary address to the joint sitting of legislative assembly and legislative council has told that government will help Neelam cyclone victims. Accordingly, funds for victims have been released.
It has to be mentioned here that Neelam cyclone, which was result of deep depression in Bay of Bengal, was actually supposed to create more damage in Tamil Nadu as it was landed somewhere near Mahabalipuram. Unfortunately, the cyclone changed its direction and hit the coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh that resulted in unexpected damage to the public and properties.
