Rakhi celebrations at Raj Bhavan

Rakhi celebrations touched peak at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad today. A large number of students, who flocked Raj Bhavan, have tied rakhis (holy threads) to the state Governor ESL Narasimhan.  The Governor has expressed his pleasure as the little girls tied rakhis to him. He convened happy rakhi to all the people in the state. Further, Narasimhan has said that people should leave behind the selfishness and think that everyone were equal.

On the other hand, festive atmosphere prevailed in Hyderabad today. The city was full of life with many people purchasing rakhis from the road side stalls and visiting nearby temples. Rakshabandan is one of the unique festivals in Hindu culture, which reportedly came into existence 6000 years ago.
