The intermediate student, who lost her voice at a hostel in Vizianagaram last week when her senior ragged her, got her voice back. The parents of the 16-year-old heaved a sigh of relief after they heard Shamili's voice. It may be recalled that this girl was allegedly ragged by a couple of seniors a week ago, which led to loss of speech. She was immediately shifted to a local hospital in Vizianagaram district and police lodged a complaint against seniors.
The police said seniors allegedly throttled the neck of Shamili and signs of bruises were visible. Later, she was shifted to a famous hospital in Vishakapatanam. After undergoing treatment for about a week, Shamili started speaking last night. She revealed the names of the person who ragged her. It has to be mentioned here that ragging is a non-bailable offense and anyone found guilty of ragging would have to serve jail term for sure.
