Pydithalli the deity of Uttarandhra people gave darshan to the devotees yesterday the starting day of Pydithalli Fete. Today being Tuesday after passing Dussehra Sirimanu the Pydithalli festival will be celebrated. Sirimanu is the special event of the festival.
Devotees from the State and also other states visited Pydithalli with fervor and queuing to have her darshan. Pots carried by them are taken as the deity and after showing them to the Paidimamba and completing their vows.
The PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana and his wife Botsa Jhansi have presented silk clothes to Paidimamba.
Sirimanu is a long and lean stick specially fetched for the occasion as per the advice of the priest of the Pydithalli temple who directs them as per the vision or audio signal he gets from the deity. The priest on this day hangs on the sirimanu of 60 feet long raised high and stay at the top of it which is a dangerous feat but nothing happens to him as everyone believes that it happens because of the grace of the Paidimamba.
The local MLA and senior leader of Telugu Desam Party Ashok Gajapati Raju was stopped in the morning by the police from going to the deity. He then sat in front of the gate and protested. Excepting this incident the fete went on peacefully and with devotion, joy and fervor.
Because of the heavy rains Sirimanu Chaiot had to stop at Hukumpeta.
