150th birth anniversary of the great poet and social reformer Gurajada Appa Rao is celebrated at Visakhapatnam today in a grand way.
The statue of Gurajada Apparao at RTC Complex was garlanded by MLC Sharma where many people gathered paid tributes to Gurajada. Sharma said on the occasion that the promise of the Government to construct a national cultural center named after Gurajada has not been fulfilled.
He also said that the residence of Gurajada Apparao at Vizianagaram should be protected by the State Government.
Among many works of Gurajada, the stage play “Kanyasulkam” attracted many and still remembered. His messages to the society as a fiction in which good characterization and language with regional tinge to it made his works very popular and effective.
