Pinki was recently released out on bail from the jail and soon after the West Bengal Sports Minister Madan Mitra alleged that she is involved in a land scam. Pinki was awarded a land by the government of West Bengal after securing 2 gold medals in 2006 Asian Games in Quatar. The government spent Rs 75,000 for the registration of the land. 

Sports Minister alleged that Pinki who was leased the land for building a personal residence has instead sold the land for profit and he also claimed that it was illegal. He said, “You can see a five storied flat coming up there. The name of the present owner can be verified with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Records,” he said.

Pinki however fought back the allegation saying that she has not sold the land and that she won it. She also clarified that a house was coming up soon there.

After spending 26 days in the Jail for allegedly raping her room mate, live-in partner, she was freed on Wednesday. The victim has also blamed her for selling a plot to Avtar Singh who is the husband of Jyotirmayee Sikdar, both former athletes.  She also claimed that Pinki purchased a luxury car and a flat in the suburbs of the city with the money she earned.

Avtar Singh however has denied of any knowledge of the plot. Jyotirmayee said that it was an allegation against her husband as she lead the protests supporting Pinki.
