It may come as a shock to many but the truth is Kolkata police filed a case charging former athlete Pinki Pramanik of rape and cheating. They filed the charge after the medical examination proved that she was lying about her gender and "she" is “he” instead.

The former athlete, the winner of 4x400m relay gold in the 2006 Doha Asian Games was arrested on June 14th after her former live in partner accused that she was raped by the athlete and she is in fact a male. Reacting on this police made her undergo medical examination which suggested her gender to be male.
