The railway officials in Andhra Pradesh have said that the trains in the state are running at slow pace for the past few days in view of the conditions prevailing in the state. They have said that the speed of almost all trains in the state has been brought down. It is known the police in Warangal seized detonators from railway tracks between Pedda Pendyala and Nashkal railway stations on Sunday.
Although police suspected that detonators might have fallen accidentally while they were being carried by some passengers aboard train that ran on these tracks the previous night, this incident has alerted not just police but even the railway department.
The railway sources have also said that anti social elements are likely to create chaos in the state and on tracks and that’s the reason why they had been taking extra security measures. Meanwhile, the waiting list for almost all main stations in Hyderabad has been considerably dropping. This could be one of the reasons for people apparently opting out of rail journey. (Phani)
