TRS Corporator Brutally Hacked To Death At His Own House:- According to Police sources, a TRS Corporator of the Warangal Municipal Corporation was brutally hacked to death in his own house, on Thursday.

The deceased victim was identified as Anishetty Murali, who was elected from the 44th Division of Greater Warangal. Using hunting sickles, axes and knives, some attackers entered his house and hacked him. Police suspect the reason behind the attack could be old enmity and political rivalry, dated back to 1991. The attack happened when Murali was alone in his room, and later died on the spot.

The suspects fled the spot and later surrendered themselves in Hanamkonda police station, sources said.

“It is not a political murder nor any business rivalry...the corporator was an accused in a case of murder of one Janardhan in 1991. He was today attacked and killed in retaliation,” a senior police official told a leading news channel. One of the attackers is the son of Janardhan, the official said.

Murali worked as city President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), prior to shifting to TRS.

Murali was the prime suspect in the murder of Congress Corporator Janardhan. Police suspect that Janardhan’s followers were involved in the brutal attack on Thursday. As the 25th anniversary of Janardhan’s death was approaching, they stated that his followers might have resorted to the murder to avenge his death. Corporator Murali, on his part, was said to be very cautious about his security and his movements in the town. Due to incessant rain, he remained at home on Thursday. Janardhan’s followers sensing it as a opportune moment, attacked and killed him.
